Family Camping

We had so much fun this Memorial Day Weekend.  The boys and I set up our camp on Wednesday.  Daddy wasn't able to join us.  He still had things he needed to get done but he joined us on Friday.

Wednesday we set up our tent while it was sprinkling and the boys let me know that I set up the tent so much faster than Daddy did.  I don't think that Daddy had the rain as a motivator!  Wednesday night we had a pretty good storm but the tent kept us warm and dry.

Thursday morning we woke up with plans!  I went ahead and cooked breakfast on the fire.  It was a lot of fun.  Even though it was on the cool side we went to the lake and had fun with the paddle boats before going back to camp for lunch.  After lunch the boys changed into their swim suits and back into the lake they went!

One of the life guards had just purchased a board and taught the boys how to use it.

Afterwards we went back to camp.  I started dinner and the boys sat down for some serious reading.
We had found an egg and Simon decided that he was ready to be a daddy!  He carried that egg around and kept it nice and warm.  Unfortunately the next day Michael accidently cracked it.  Simon almost cried, he had become attached to it but when he saw that there was no baby inside he was able to let go.
Here Simon is eating and watching over his egg.
and what is camping without roasting marshmallows!
We had a tree frog!  My first picture of it is only 2 feet from it!  I had to get my camera and zoom in on the frog in order to see any details.  Wow.

I just love watching these geese with their babies.
The next day, Friday, Daddy arrived.  We were back on the lake.  This time Michael decided to row me around the lake and Matt went with Simon and Nathan on the paddle boat.

after lunch the boys decided to go swimming.  I had the camera poised just as Matt slipped off the float!
He almost knocked Simon off the dock when he fell off!

After having fun swimming the boys went back to camp to dry off, get a snack and then go biking.  Friday afternoon so many families showed up for camp and there were kids everywhere!  I didn't see much of the boys after that.  They easily made friends and with so many families from various churches there I allowed them to run and have a good time.  I could see them from my hill and felt pretty safe for them.  They spend the next few days riding bikes and playing ga ga ball.
I was able to visit with friends and I really go into my fire!

This picture was taken from my tent of Simon and Nathan.  I'm really impressed with my zoom on the camera.
