last game of the season

Well football season is over until next year.  Simon is sad but its been a good year and NO serious injuries!  Simon got the reputation of being fast so when we played the "green" team I had to hold my breath!  The green team was undefeated and really good!  There was one player that easily took the other kids down like they were stuffed animals.  Unfortunately several other kids were hurt when playing against that player.  During this last game they put that player against Simon because Simon easily was able to get past other players and gained the reputation for being fast.  Everytime I heard the coach for the green team scream "stay on 17" I screamed "NO" right back at them!  I was such a nervous wreck!  Afterwards our coach came up to me and said "Did you see that?  Did you see that?  Simon held his own on that kid and even got around him several times!"  Yes.  Yes I saw that and was in prayer during the whole game!!!!  Thank God that player for the green team is going to be going into 7th grade and won't be playing in our grade level again!

It was a good game and Simon didn't get hurt! He is looking forward to next year and is already hoping to do some football camps next summer.

Date!

Matt and I had a date today.  It has been a long time since we've had a real date.  I can only thank my wonderful friend Angie for taking the boys today and my dear husband for taking the day off so we could have fun.

I found a groupon that I knew that Matt would love.  A rope obstacle course.  I'm still laughing.  I made it on one course then turned around and made it right back to the platform and sat down!  It was NOT for me.  After going through part of the course you had these little ledges to stand on and I decided that just wasn't enough space for this girl.  And then heading back to the platform I was on a swing and I feel off!  I forgot that I had the harness on was holding on for dear life. Of course I survived but still.  The older I get the less brave I am!   I did have a great time cheering my husband on and watching everyone else go through the course.  We were 33feet to 55feet up in the air.

Here I am on the far right.  I found my spot and I wasn't moving!  I just kept cheering Matt on and stayed right where I was!

What a week!

It really has been such a busy week month! Swimming lessons, archery lessons, basketball games, football games, field trips and now boxing classes!  Wow!  I know I am sooo late getting pictures up and updating everyone as to the happenings of the boys.  I just find that by the time I get to the computer I am rushing to check emails and plan for tomorrows events.  Such is the life.

Today Michael had a basketball game and he made 6 baskets!  He has found his new nitch and is very happy with it.  He is also doing very well with swimming.  He's a little fish!   All three boys are doing well with swimming.  I keep hoping that one day Nathan will get the hang of actually swimming but this week he caught onto floating!  He learned how to jump into the pool and immediately go onto his back and float.  I was so happy I started clapping!

This week we took a day and went to the Science Museum.  I love our Science Museum.  While we were there, waiting to see the movie, the boys were reading pamphlets.  There were 2 pamphlets, one on smoking and addictions and the other pamphlet was on marijuana and other drugs.  It was a very  priceless moment!  Michael was reading a pamphlet and Simon was finishing up the smoking and addictions pamphlet when he turned to Michael and loudly informed Michael "Ok, I'm ready for marijuana now".  I busted out laughing as quite a few other moms turned around to see what was going on.  What a moment.  This one is going in his journal!

We also had a football game today.  Pretty busy!  Simon did really well and his team won their game today.  I am starting to get into football and learning so much about the game though my kids.  Simon got hurt today in his game.  He tackled this kid and he came down on his elbow.  Oh goodness, yes I did!  I went out on the field to see how my baby was.  I didn't hug him because I knew that I would get in big trouble for that one but the OSU medic was there and checked him out.  He also got the wind knocked out of him.  Once he was cleared ok and he stood up I walked off the field.  I just had to check on him!  Now I know that once he gets into the middle school level I cant do that but hopefully by that time I will have gotten used to the roughness and be able to stay put but for now, no way!

We started boxing classes this week too.  Not like we don't have enough going on right?!  But I was able to get a groupon for these boxing classes and I have found that I really like it!  I'm even more excited about it because Simon and Michael will be able to join me in the class.  Nathan has to wait until he turns 7 but they let him hook up to the internet so he can watch Netflix while the rest of us workout.  Matt is enjoying it also.  Poor Michael, the next day after the first class he was so sore from working out so hard but he says he wants to continue.  We are having a lot of fun with it and I'm rockin' with my boxing gloves!
